Day one 09th December 2010 Welcome to the Underside of the World!

Dinner or handbag!!!
On the 06th December I left snowy UK and landed in sunny Australia in Cairns.
On the flight between Singapore and Cairns I met my new favourite flight partner, Mark Sheriton who is a 22 year old RAF aircraft engineer.
We decided that we might as well go for a drink that evening given the fact that neither of us knew anyone or had plans.
After one drink I was drunk and had to hit the hay.... I'm clearly to old for jet lag and beer!!!!
Up for 06:30 the next following day though ready to catch the bus.
I had booked a tour with Oz Adventures and initially I was concerned that it would be an 18 to 30 "shag fest" set up as a lot of these tours seem to be so I relieved to find a little mini bus with a small group waiting.
The tour guide, Deno had crazy curly hair and seemed to say 'too easy' a lot which I am sure will catch on!!!
The group on the bus consisted of 9 people and it was a really good mix of people from all different nationalities and ages. (AND, I wasn't the oldest... YAY!)
First stop out of Cairns - Crocodile Farm.
A great place to meet and greet crocodiles, kangaroos, dingos, wallabies, parakeets and snakes!
A really great place and a nice icebreaker for the group.
Magnetic Island view point
Next stop, Magnetic Island. After a gusty ferry ride over to the island we all headed to the pool followed by a walk up to a view point across the island.
It was a really laid back environment and we all concluded the night with a few drink, got to know each other and shot a load of bucks and cows!!! (On an arcade game!)
So far, the group seem brillo!
The only hitch was that 8 of us had to share a hostel room which lacked air con and was actually hotter than the sun inside!!!!
Despite that, as always, I managed to sleep soundly!
Pretty cool first day of the tour and it's set the bar high for the next few weeks! :

Our guide for the next few weeks, Deno!!!
"To Easy"
